The download has been tested by an editor here on a PC and a list of features has been compiled; see below. We've also created some screenshots of A43 to illustrate the user interface and show the overall usage and features of this file management program.
A43 is a handy explorer like file management tool that includes an integrated text editor with unlimited size. It also supports dynamic highlighting for the web.It comes with its zip/unzip functions, so you only need drag-n-drop files or click a button to process archives. You can also turn your ZIP archives into self-extracting archives the same way.
Features of A43Create your zip archives into self-extracting archives the same way.
Favorite buttons to quickly open those often used folders.
Integrated file search to quickly locate and jump to those lost files.
Integrated quick launch area for fast access to the programs you use the most.
Integrated text editor with unlimited size.
Integrated zip/unzip features a button.
Keep it on your pen/jump drive and take it where ever you go.
Requires no installation, no data is written to the system registry.
Compatibility and LicenseA43 is provided under a freeware license on Windows from file managers with no restrictions on usage. Download and installation of this PC software is free and 3.90 is the latest version last time we checked.
Other interesting features are the Quick Launcher and the Text Editor. The former allows you to list your favorite applications for easier and quicker access, while the latter will help you produce and edit text files, including dynamic highlighting for the Web. In the same tabbed menu you will also find a Hexadecimal Viewer and a comprehensive Find File option. This is not exclusive to this file manager, but its high level of flexibility is worth noting. It allows you to search for the keywords provided both in file names and in the text within a file. You can locate files using their modification dates and times, and narrow your searches by selecting specific attributes and size ranges.
If only for its archive-related functionality, A43 is a tool worth having installed on your system. It may not be the most comprehensive and attractive-looking file managing tool out there, but it is an interesting free alternative.
Preview Pane is an existing feature in the Windows File Explorer which allows you to see a preview of the file's contents in the view's reading pane. PowerToys adds multiple extensions: Markdown, SVG, PDF, and G-code. In addition to those, PowerToys also adds support for source code files (for more than 150 file extensions).
Just to add to Ki's reply, this task has been simplified for MSP430 projects. If you go to Project Properties->C/C++ Build->Build Steps tab, under "Apply Predefined Step", there are a couple of predefined commands for generating TI-TXT and Intel hex outputs. If you select one of the them, the post build command will be populated with the appropriate command and will always run as a post-build step on your .out file when you build your CCS project. You can easily customize the command to add other options or output a different hex format.
Isn't .a43 the same as Intex hex format? Or were you expecting a different hex format? If it is the same as Intel hex, you can choose the Predefined post-build step in CCS as noted in the previous post in this thread, and change the -o (output file) option to .a43 extension. If you are looking for a different hex format, please check Chapter 11 of the MSP430 Assembly Language Tools Users Guide for the formats supported by the hex converter.
I have written a code and now I want to generate its hex file and want to port it to hardware without using flash burn. But I can't find any thing like 'hex utlity' or "flash burn utility" in my CCSv5.5. What is the reason? Thankyou

It is quite a delicate situation, a colleague is planning on leaving their job but wants to have another job lined up first. They need their files off of their computer to demonstrate the level of work that they do. It is not against company policy to copy your files off of the network so no problem there, although it would obvious raise unnecessary suspicion copying them all through Windows.
If they are on his local hard drive any bootable CD should allow you to do this. I'd probably do it with an ubuntu live CD. If you wanted to be really paranoid I guess you could dd the whole hard drive without mounting the file system so that it couldn't possibly write anything then mount the dd'ed image on a separate pc to do the copying.
First, he should make sure he has all the files he wants copied to the local machine (this will simplify things, so that he doesn't have to make ubuntu connect to the network - that would really set off alarm bells). He'd then probably want to disconnect the network cable, for good measure (for the aformentioned reason). Then he can boot his computer with the CD in the drive (ie: put the disk in the computer while it's still on, then restart the computer).
Once it loads up, he'll be using Ubuntu linux, which is completely separate from the windows on his harddisk. He can go to the "Places" menu (on the top menu bar), go to "Computer", find his local harddisk and browse for his files. He can then plug in his external USB drive, and copy the files to it (there will be an icon for the USB drive on the Desktop).
Couple of if statements I'm afraid, but this works. If there is external access to work email from home, and if the files are small or there is no real time limit. Then attach the files wanted to a draft email at work, log into the work webmail solution from home/internet cafe and save them back down from the draft to USB.Make sure that if the files are large, that the email quota isn't reached and genereates an log elsewhere.
here you have a Windows Live CD with USB support and a program that will create an image file of the entire hard drive or a selected partition (without a trace) in XML format, which is easy to explore/extract. 041b061a72
