Buy Weathertech Mats ##TOP##

Before joining Wirecutter, I spent the better part of three decades as an automotive writer, reporter, and editor for various automotive publications, including about 10 years as an associate editor for Consumer Reports. A lifelong gearhead, one of my primary beats at CR and an area of personal interest has always been the automotive aftermarket and car accessories. That ranges from sophisticated audio and electronics products to things that are less likely to make for interesting party conversation, like tires, car batteries, wipers, and, yes, floor mats.

But any universal mat is going to be a compromise. They are rarely a perfect fit for any vehicle right out of the box, although most rubber mats can be trimmed using scissors. Even some of the least expensive include cut lines for this purpose.

Aftermarket mats and liners can be purchased through a wide variety of outlets: big-box department stores, auto parts retailers, and any number of sources online such as Amazon and AutoAnything. Some manufacturers offer direct shipping from the factory.

In the end, we chose to test 23 sets of mats and liners. This included premium liners from each of the companies that sell them, a variety of inexpensive mats, and a couple of custom-fit mats that split the price difference between those two categories.

Before installing the new mats and liners, we removed any old mats in the vehicles per installation instructions and thoroughly vacuumed the vehicle floors to ensure as good a fit as possible. We used vehicle factory mounting holes with mats and liners that were designed for them, noting how compatible those fits were. While installing, we noted any difficulties due to poor fit, overly stiff products that made them harder to install, or anything else that caused a problem. Once installed, we noted how well the products fit lengthwise and from side-to side and how flexible they were to conform with uneven floors and obstructions like floor-mounted fuel-door releases. We also evaluated universal mats to find out how easy they were to trim for a customized fit.

When it came time for the dirty business of testing for stain resistance and cleaning, we turned to the Internet and to Pat Slaven, who at the time was Consumer Reports cleaning expert, for advice. Pat has been making messes and cleaning them up in a lab environment for decades. First, we asked about rubber mats and liners.

We spread our mats and liners out on the lawn and mixed up a bucket of mud according to directions. We then spread a measured quantity onto a section of each mat. Next, we poured a half cup of grape juice and coffee onto each, and smeared mayonnaise to represent oily food. And then we let the soiled mats and liners sit for a period of 24 hours. The next day we cleaned them using a garden hose, scrub brush, and a bucket of water with mild dishwashing soap mixed in.

Carpeted mats as a group tended to be harder to get clean than rubber mats for much of the same reason that scrubbing your home carpets is more difficult than vinyl flooring. Fibers can more easily trap crud than a flat surface. But we were pleased to see how well they stood up.

Even though Hexomat mats lack the raised lip of a liner, their hexagonal pattern divides each mat into dozens of small compartments to help contain liquid. Hexomat mats are arguably not the most stylish of the products we tested (not that style and floor mats are two things normally discussed in the same sentence). But they get at least most of the job done at a much lower price than model-specific liners.

Since the fluid channels catch everything, WeatherTech mats are easier to clean. Just pull them out and dump them. If you want to give your floor liners some shine, WeatherTech sells a biodegradable kit with a bottle of cleaner and a bottle of protectant. This will also keep the WeatherTech liners smelling nice, which can be a challenge with a standard cloth mat.

During the summer, we spend a good deal of time camping and hiking at Warren Dunes State Park on the shore of Lake Michigan. We always inherit plenty of sand and food crumbs on the way to and from Detroit. The channels inside the WeatherTech mats catch everything, making them easy to dump out or vacuum.

However, we recommend shopping around and reading customer reviews before buying WeatherTech mats. Other popular brands include Husky Liners and Lloyd NorthRidge, both of which are less expensive. If, after taking a look at the competition, you are sold on the WeatherTech FloorLiners, visit their official Amazon store to pick out a set for your vehicle.

these mats are a bad joke. I bought the complete set a year ago for my 2016 Escape and while the front mats are acceptable, the rear mats have curled and lost their shape, and my trunk mat has also curled and both look ridiculous, ESPECIALLY given the price. The solution is to rest a heavy object on the mat to straighten them out and that is direct advice from Weathertech AND the Seller. It is quite obvious that these mats need to have thicker gauge material to be more rigid. I have mats from Walmart that outperform these. Zero stars and my recommendation is DO NOT BUY and to look into 3rd party sellers for mats that have a thicker gauge material in the hopes that they are more rigid and perform as advertised.

I had damage to one of the floor mats from my truck, just need one but custermer service refused to sell me one as it is against company policy so I implemented my own company policy to never buy products from this comapny again. now I have mats from another manufacture and I am happier than I would have been if I had bought 2 mats to replace just 1.

On a secondary note, in the past when they send you products, sometimes the bend them to fit in the box, well on the lasered floor mats, be prepared to be putting in some work to make them lay flat again, I think mine took 9 monthes to finally lay flat all the way

I ordered floor liners for my 2019 Tacoma Truck. Well, weather tech shipped the wrong mats . Trying to get a hold of them is next to impossible. I have been on hold over 1 hr two separate times and still never was able to talk with a customer service person. This company has a great product but only if they ship the right product.

Just received my weather tech floor mats for a 2019 sierra SLT. Was not impressed at all with the container in which the mats arrived in. The card board box was big enough for a washing machine. The mats were thrown in like they did not care how they arrived. My 4 year old grandson could have done a better packing job. The fitment in the back seat area was mediocre at best. The front fit decent but I will never pay $243.00 (shipping/handling included) again for flimsy mats. No I will not return, its just too much trouble. I will just never purchase again.

In addition, WeatherTech Floor Mats do not emit an odor, include a non-stick coating for easy cleanup, and are manufactured with the highest-quality materials that will not crack, curl, or harden in any weather condition. Black, tan, and grey mats are available and are designed to fit a wide variety of makes and models of cars, SUVs, trucks, and minivans.

If you need a way to keep the floors of your car or truck clean after you pick up the kids from soccer practice or go for a walk in the woods with your dog, these floor mats might be just what youve been looking for. However, there are quite a few differences between the new and pre-owned WeatherTech floor mats in this eBay category, and youll want to brush up on these details before you make a final decision.

If your auto has a back seat area, its likely that WeatherTech floor mat packages for your model come with back seat mats. However, the inexpensive car and truck floor mats and carpets on eBay vary from model to model, and the two most commonly explored themes include:

Yes, WeatherTech makes mats for the cargo section of certain vehicles. If you have an SUV, its likely that WeatherTech includes cargo section mats in their mat bundles for your model of vehicle, and these mats consist of wide, thick pieces that are tailored to fit the contours of your cargo section. If you buy these mats as part of a set, they are guaranteed to match the aesthetics of the other liners in the set, which leads to a unified and coordinated look.

Your vehicle's original mats are the cheapest acceptable things available. You might get two years out of the factory driver's side mat, if you're lucky and gentle. And even if the stock mats hold up at all, they're hard to clean, prone to wiggling around, and about as good as a piece of cardboard when it comes to protecting the carpeting underneath.

And that carpeting is the key thing to keep in mind here. Replacing floor mats is, as you'll see when you shop our site, quite affordable. Replacing worn-out, stained interior carpeting is anything but. In most cases, you're not going to swap out your carpeting, but you probably are going to expect to get something for the car when you trade it in on a new one. And that's when those carpet stains cost you money.

What's that? Floor mats just got a little more interesting? Exactly. That's why a set of WeatherTech floor mats and liners is a smart investment. We carry three varieties from WeatherTech: versatile AVM universal-fit mats, rugged All-Weather mats, and custom-designed DigitalFit FloorLiners. This quick guide will help you choose the right mats for your vehicle and your lifestyle.

The "universal" part of the name refers to the fact that these durable, pliable floor mats will, within reason, fit just about anything in the more-or-less recent automotive universe. How? Well, there's a little DIY involved. Specifically, you'll trim them to fit your car.

You can achieve a surprisingly good fit with AVM mats, but they're probably not what you want for your late-model luxury car. That's not an apology, it's just a fact. These tough, utilitarian mats are what they are, and they're a terrific choice for a hard-working company vehicle, a weekends-only collectable car, or the used (but reliable) beater you're giving (sacrificing?) to your college-bound kid. 041b061a72
