Black Clover (TV) Episode 68

Black clover and Naruto.. Both have stupid and loud main characters who are at start very, very weak, but they are both training hard and want to become something what others dont think they will ever be: Naruto - hokage and Asta - Wizard king.

Black Clover (TV) Episode 68

Out of 170 episodes, Black Clover has 17 total filler episodes, meaning 10% of the TV episodes are unrelated to the manga canon. While some arcs feature standalone episodes, others contain narratives spread across consecutive chapters.

Despite having the least filler, the long-running anime series Black Clover's first filler arc began in Season 1, Episode 29, "Path." Part of the Eye of the Midnight Sun arc, the reflective episode concerns Gordon reading his diary to other Black Bulls regarding Asta's past.

While Asta is away training, Gordon reminisces about Asta's time defeating Sekke Bronzazza. Viewers also learn that it was Yami who invited Asta to join the Black Bulls after he remained steadfast in his beliefs and vowed to become the Wizard King. Noelle also expresses how Asta has been reckless since childhood. While shading the character's backstory with nostalgic glimpses into the past, the story was not canonized in the original manga and set the tone for more filler episodes to come.

As Klaus reads through old reports detailing the long-held feud between both sides, viewers learn that the magic stone can only increase the powers of elf tribes. This leads the Witch Queen to theorize The Eye of the Midnight Sun descends from elves before Yami gives the stone to the Wizard King. While these developments shade the Clover Kingdom's past, like most filler episodes, it comes at the cost of a consistent narrative flow that does not follow Yuuki Tabata's

Black Clover delivered one of the most amusing filler episodes in the Royal Knights arc via Season 2, Episode 17, "Battle to the Death? Yami vs Jack." The plot follows a food-selling competition that devolves into a physical altercation between Yami and Jack the Ripper, forcing Julius Novachrono to break it up before too much damage is done to the Clover Kingdom. It's one of the most underrated anime fights on record.

Despite having nothing to do with the larger manga canon, the filler episode demonstrates how powerful Yami's new form of magic can be when used in a fight. While Julius was forced to stop the fight out of fear of the consequences the Clover Kingdom could face from Yami's powerful magic, the standalone filler arc depicts a highly entertaining grudge match that reinforces Yami's braggadocios bravado.

Although Charmy undergoes nightmarish hallucinations that consist of recycled clips from previous Black Clover episodes, not much else happens in the filler arc. While it's fun to see Charmy struggle with the past in her altered state of consciousness, fans felt cheated by what is essentially a compilation of reruns. Whereas some Black Clover filler arcs fit the canon timeline better than others, "Petite Clover!" feels like the biggest non-sequitur of them all.

In the middle of the Elf Reincarnation arc comes three consecutive filler episodes that find Secre Swallowtail sitting atop the Black Bulls base and reflecting on five centuries of historical events. After two episodes of detailing the elf's reincarnation, the final episode in the filler arc finds the Black Bulls returning to the location of their original base.

When Henry Legolant can't recall the form of the original Black Bulls base, Asta encourages them to imagine and write down the details of their dream base. While the three episodes help break up the monotony of the 60-episode Elf Reincarnation arc and provide insight into the Bulls' desires, like most of the reflective episodes, the filler arc spends too much time in the past and distracts the thrust of the main narrative. This dynamic is both a perk and harsh reality of long-running anime.

Aside from the familiar downtime spent at home, what makes the filler arc so memorable is how Asta and Yuno experience changes made to their hometown; leaving them longing for a past that no longer exists. Most filler episodes sacrifice emotional impact for historical context, but "A New Resolve" earned a 7.5 IMDb rating for how tender and touching the nostalgic emotions come through.

The next Black Clover filler arc started in Season 3, Episode 32, "Those Who Have Been Gathered." The story finds the powerful Black Clover character Asta and Noelle abducted by Mereoleona and taken to Vermillion Estate, where Fuegoleon forces them to perform silly party tricks. The second episode, "The One Who Has My Heart, My Mind, And Soul," concerns Finral going on a series of dates with various women to test how impervious he is to their romantic charms.

While neither story has much importance relating to the Elf Reincarnation, the filler arc does a much better job than the redundant recaps and tangential reflections that add little to the overall viewing experience. Watching Finral clash with Charlotte on a romantic date from hell is one of the most entertaining moments in the entire series for the dashing ladies' man, proving that not all filler episodes need to focus on the past.

Black Clover's final filler arc is also its biggest. Toward the end of the Elf Reincarnation arc, a 7-episode sequence beginning with Season 3, Episode 40, "Those Who Remain" tells the backstory of Dazu Tayak, a banished commoner of the Clover Kingdom who leads a mission among the Devil Banishers to avenge her mother-in-law's death.
