We recommend you upgrade Office. Your options to upgrade will depend if you're using Office 2010 at home or if your version of Office 2010 is managed by the IT department at your work or school.

If you're using Office 2010 at home, you'll still be able to use it, but we recommend you upgrade to a newer version of Office so you can stay up to date with all the latest features, patches, and security updates. To learn more about upgrading see How do I upgrade Office?

For individuals at work: If your version of Office 2010 is managed by your work or school, contact your IT Help Desk about how to upgrade. Your IT department will likely have their own upgrade plan.

For IT Pros and Microsoft 365 admins: If you're an admin still running Office 2010 in your organization, we strongly recommend that you upgrade your users to the latest version of Office as soon as possible. Review the following for additional guidance.

By default, the AutoArchive feature is turned off in Outlook 2010 and later versions. The AutoArchive feature is enabled in Outlook 2003 and Outlook 2007 by default. If you don't disable the AutoArchive feature in Outlook 2003 or Outlook 2007 and upgrade to Outlook 2010 or later versions, the AutoArchive feature remains enabled.

The Outlook Data (.pst) file that you choose as the default archive file must be located on the local computer. The use of networked .pst files is only supported with Outlook 2010 and under very specific conditions. For more information about the limits to using .pst files over the network, see Limits to using personal folders (.pst) files over LAN and WAN links.

this just changes the theme on ms office 2010, it only changes the headings and tabs, it does not change the body of outlook from white to black, this is not dark mode. this is just the stupid theme setting. not any help at all.

I am VERY disappointed with Office 2016 because we cannot change the BRIGHT WHITE PAGE background color. I am not referring to theme color; rather, the work area that we do our reading. The eye strain makes it painfully difficult to work in Excel, Word and Outlook all day. Office 2010 and prior versions allowed us to change the default page background to a soft yellow and it was easy on the eyes. Microsoft, are you listening? Please make this change ASAP. Thanks.

What is the issue, why would MS take away something so needed by so many? If you do not give us this options I will have no choice but to quit working as they will not give me back 2010 and I cannot customize this screen.

The color scheme and options available on 2010\2013 are very difficult for people with low vision or for people having problems with discerning color differences. There are more of us than you realize. Plus the brightness feels similar to migraine symptoms for sensitive people. Light blue or gray on white is nearly impossible for me to distinguish. I work all day on the computer. Please bring in bold color upgrades for the entire Outlook and Word formats. (Including frames; toolbars; ribbons, etc.)

What absolute trash, Outlook 2013 is the most hard to look at think i have seen on a computer since friggin PONG. If i had known i would never have upgraded from 2010. We should be burying Microsoft in complaints.

i am really disappointing with outlook 2013, its really killing my eyes, there is no such color which would be convinient to read emails, that was my big mistake to upgrade my ms office from 2010 to 2013.. so sad !!

This is a common feature in all Outlook versions and one of the critical parts of this application. The access bar offers you quick navigation into the outlook features and helps you manage your work.

Getting everyone in one place at the same time for appointments can be daunting at times. Outlook makes it easy to setup appointments and invite attendees as well, and here we look at doing it in Outlook 2010.

Microsoft Outlook provides a way for users to manage and organize their email using rules. A rule is a condition or action set by the user to organize mail messages either sent or received by the user. For example, rules can be applied to save messages from a distribution list to a specific folder or to move messages with certain subject words into a folder. This document explains how to create rules with all versions of Microsoft Outlook: 2003, 2007, 2010, and 2013.

Would I need to buy a USB modem and install it in order to use the MS Outlook 2010 calling feature, or should it work through my ethernet hub. I have tried making a call, but an internal error message is given, with no useful description.

ScanPST (scanpst.exe) is the Outlook Inbox Repair Tool designed to verify Outlook PST files for integrity errors. Earlier Outlook versions let you access ScanPST easily through the Outlook / Office Diagnostics feature, but Outlook 2010 and Outlook 2013 make it harder for you to manually run the Inbox Repair Tool (scanpst.exe). This article shows the location of scanpst.exe on Outlook 2010 & 2013.

I have several .PST files related to a MS-Outlook 2010 version. These files belong to the several accounts in an old MS-Outlook 2010.I want to use them for a new installation of MS-Outlook but when I make a new account (same name before) MS-Outlook make a new .PST file for that account (the Emails recognized as IMAP) and the size of this new .PST is just 265 KB but the old one has size more than 1GB

Unfortunately Outlook supports something roughly equivalent to IE5 compatible HTML. It's really terrible. Here's a detailed MSDN article on the Word 2007 HTML and CSS Rendering Capabilities in Outlook 2007, which I don't believe changed much for Outlook 2010.

Honestly, the only way I've been able to get outlook HTML to look the way I want is to hand generate the HTML using roughly HTML2 standard tags and properties and not using CSS at all. Some CSS renders, but it's really hit or miss.

The MSDN article superlime linked to tells the sad story: for whatever incomprehensible reasons, Microsoft reverted nearly 10 years in their handling of HTML email w/Outlook2007, and did not see fit to fix it in 2010.

In Microsoft Exchange Server organizations you can deploy server-level email signatures via the transport rules in Exchange 2019, 2016, 2013, 2010 and 2007. A similar feature exists in Google Apps for Business and Exchange Online.

Note:While upgrading from a previous version of Outlook will automatically upgrade your mail profile, it still is recommended to recreate you mail profile when upgrading from Outlook 2010 or previous due to deep level changes to multi-account, Outlook.com and IMAP support and other configurations.

Attachment Previewers for other Office applications will only work when the other Office applications are the 2016 versions as well. The previewers of the 2007, 2010 and 2013 versions of Word, Excel and PowerPoint are not compatible with Outlook 2016.

Outlook 2016 is available as a standalone application as well without needing to install or buy the other Office 2016 applications. However, not all features might be available to you. Similar to Outlook 2007, Outlook 2010 and Outlook 2013, the following features require you to install Word 2016 as well;

Similar to Office 2007, Office 2010 and Office 2013, the Themes feature requires Outlook to be installed as part of a suite. A combination of Office 2016 Home & Student with a standalone installation of Outlook 2016 will not enable this feature.

From time to time Microsoft Outlook adopts quite an annoying habit to hang around even if the user persistently attempts to shut it down. Technically, it means that one or more outlook.exe processes would stay in memory preventing the Outlook application from closing correctly and not letting us, users, start a new Outlook instance. This problem existed in earlier versions and it may occur with recent Outlook 2013 and 2010.

To start Outlook in Safe mode, click on its icon holding the Ctrl key, or enter outlook.exe /safe in the command line. You'll see a message asking you to confirm that you really want to start Outlook in Safe mode, click Yes.

First off, you need to close Outlook otherwise Inbox Repair won't start. Then open Windows Explorer and navigate to the C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE14 folder if you are using Outlook 2010. If you have Outlook 2013 installed, it will be C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE15.

In Outlook 2010, you will find the Compact option on the File tab, under Info > Accounts Settings > Data Files tab. Choose your Personal folder and then click Settings. Go to the General tab and click Compact Now.

my outlook works fine but keeps freezing everytime i try view attachments from mail and also if I try add attach file to new mail.what could be the cause of this? and what can I do to fix it? please help

Just A simple Process :1) Press Window Button and 'R' Key together, as to open the Run Command Box.2) Enter "outlook /safe" exactly in the same pattern in the command box.3) Outlook Will open in the safe mode without freezing.4) Delete the Malware/ Infected Mail and Viola, Your Outlook is free. It will start working in the same as before. This is one way I found out to resolve this problem. If any of you find some other better option, please let me know for better understanding. 041b061a72
