So basically the thing is you already stated that it is a hobby and not a professional course, hobby can be anything which generates interest in you but once you are motivated enough I believe we generally refine the thing unconsciously and over time it becomes a mastered skill because we put all our heart and effort into that.

Most interesting thing according to me is taking up the challenges which even we believe that we may not be able to accomplish but than working over it and finishing it off and leveling up. This is basically my point of view and will for sure differ from person to person.
