Bullet Train is a 2022 American action comedy film starring Brad Pitt as an assassin who must battle fellow killers while riding a bullet train. The film was directed by David Leitch from a screenplay by Zak Olkewicz, and produced by Antoine Fuqua, who initially conceived the film. It is based on the 2010 novel Maria Beetle (titled Bullet Train in the UK and US edition), written by Kōtarō Isaka and translated by Sam Malissa, the second novel in Isaka's Hitman trilogy, of which the first novel was previously adapted as the 2015 Japanese film Grasshopper. The film also features an ensemble supporting cast including Joey King, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Brian Tyree Henry, Andrew Koji, Hiroyuki Sanada, Michael Shannon, Benito A. Martínez Ocasio, and Sandra Bullock.

Bullet Train (2022)2022

Yuichi Kimura, "The Father", boards a bullet train in Tokyo in search of the attacker of his son Wataru. Meanwhile, guided by his handler Maria Beetle, operative "Ladybug" is assigned to retrieve a briefcase full of cash from the same train, replacing a sick colleague, Carver. Ladybug is reluctant, as his recent string of bad luck during his jobs resulted in accidental deaths. Also on the train are two English assassin brothers codenamed "Lemon" and "Tangerine", who just rescued a man ("The Son") from kidnappers and are taking him and the briefcase to his father, a Russian-born Yakuza boss called "The White Death".

October 27, 2022 -- On the third day of the investment and trade mission to Japan, Mayor Sylvester Turner, Greater Houston Partnership President/CEO Bob Harvey, and members of the delegation learned more about the Japanese company that is the model for plans to develop a bullet train in Texas.

The engagement began with a Texas Central update on the status of the proposed Houston - Dallas bullet train project. Representatives explained that the landscape changed since March 2022, when the company underwent a restructuring effort, and the future of the high-speed train remains bright. Texas Central has assembled a world-class team to construct the system and reached regulatory milestones.

Following the briefing, the delegation connected with Japan Central Railway for an exclusive tour of the Shinkansen control and training centers, followed by a ride on the bullet train from Tokyo to Mishima, Japan. Over the Shinkansen's 50-plus-year history, carrying over 10 billion passengers, there has not been a single passenger fatality or injury on board due to train derailments or collisions, according to the JRC.

In BULLET TRAIN, a career criminal codenamed "Ladybug" (Brad Pitt) has spent some time working on self-reflection and trying to live a more peaceful existence. But now he's preparing for his latest job: snatching a briefcase from a bullet train that runs between Tokyo and Kyoto. Unfortunately, the gig isn't so simple. "Tangerine" (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) and "Lemon" (Brian Tyree Henry) are supposed to deliver the case, along with a warlord's son (Logan Lerman), but they lose both. And "The Prince" (Joey King) is blackmailing a man (Andrew Koji) into helping assassinate the warlord, who's also known as The White Death. Meanwhile, someone is poisoning people with snake venom, and a killer is seeking revenge. Is all of it somehow connected? And can Ladybug get out of this mess alive?

Trained killer Ladybug (Brad Pitt) wants to give up the life but is pulled back in by his handler Maria Beetle in order to collect a briefcase on a bullet train heading from Tokyo to Kyoto. Once onboard, he and the other competing assassins onboard discover that their objectives are all connected.

Thus, the David Leitch-directed Bullet Train adapts a novel titled Maria Beetle by Kotaro Osaka and recounts a story about a fatalistic assassin Ladybug (Brad Pitt) who boards a bullet train with a mission to steal a suitcase. It also happens that the suitcase in question is in possession of a pair of other assassins (Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Brian Tyree Henry) tasked with taking it to their mysterious and allegedly immensely dangerous boss White Death (Michael Shannon). Things get complicated when a handful of other vendetta-fuelled assassins board the same train, such as a desperate father (Andrew Koji) yearning for a confrontation with whoever was responsible for putting his kid in a hospital, a bona fide sociopath posing as a schoolgirl (Joey King) and a cartel sicario with a temper management issue (Benito Martinez Ocasio). And as fate would have it, this ensemble of personalities will sooner rather than later be whittled down in a string of encounters, brawls, fisticuffs and battles of wits, all to the accompaniment of characteristically self-aware sense of humour and garnished with hefty doses of cleanly choreographed close quarter action set pieces.
