Demon Slayer: Mugen Train (2021) (Animation)
Tanjiro, Nezuko, Zenitsu, and Inosuke board a train to assist the Flame Hashira Kyojuro Rengoku in his mission to hunt for a demon that has killed many demon slayers and civilians. Soon after boarding, all of them are enchanted and fall into a deep sleep. Enmu, Lower Rank One of the Twelve Kizuki, instructs four passengers, all suffering from severe insomnia, to enter the demon slayers' dreams and destroy their spiritual cores so that they can't wake up again. In exchange, Enmu will allow them a peaceful sleep with all of their own dreams.

Eventually they destroy Enmu but not before she derails the train in the process. While they are attempting to save passengers another demon, Akaza, appears to try to turn Kyōjurō into a demon or kill him trying. A great battle ensues that ultimately leads to the demise of Kyōjurō. It is through that battle that the young apprentices, who consider themselves pretty bad ass, see how much more they have to learn and how ill equipped they are to handle these powerful demons. They go on with the encouraging words of Kyōjurō who says he has faith in them though.
The episode starts with a conductor aboard the Mugen Train getting slashed by lurking demons. But this one doesn't look like Enmu, the Lower-Rank One Demon of the Twelve Kizuki we know (from the film) is the baddie terrorizing the train.
Description: "Tanjiro and the group have completed their rehabilitation training at the Butterfly Mansion, and they arrive to their next mission on the Mugen Train, where over 40 people have disappeared in a very short period of time. Tanjiro and Nezuko, along with Zenitsu and Inosuke, join one of the most powerful swordsmen within the Demon Slayer Corps, Flame Hashira Kyojuro Rengoku, to face the demon aboard the Mugen Train on track to despair."
After the first season of Demon Slayer ends, the film picks up where the show left off. The main characters, Tanjiro, Inosuke, Zenitsu, and Nezuko, head off to their next adventure as they must board a train where passengers have been mysteriously disappearing. Once boarding the train, they meet up with one of the top pillars in the demon slayer corp, Rengoku Kyojuro, the flame hashira.
The movie picks up right where the series left off. Our heroes make it to the train in time and everything seems to be fine. Well, as fine as things can be with Inosuke taking in the marvels of a train ride as only he can. The boys even find Kyojuro Rengoku quickly after they board. It is a good thing, too, since this would not be the pleasant trip that most of the passengers are hoping for. There is a demon that is tormenting humans when they are at their most vulnerable: in their sleep!
To give a basic summary of what Demon Slayer is about, Tanjiro lives an ordinary life in a rural Japanese community alongside his mother and siblings, but one day after leaving to see charcoal in town Tanjiro finds his whole family slaughtered and his sister turned into a flesh-eating demon. Tanjiro trains to become a demon slayer in the hopes of finding a way to transform his sister back to a human meanwhile his mentor brainwashed and hypnotized his sister into wanting to protect humans instead of wanting to kill them (a minor plot macguffin to allow Nezuko to not be a constant plot annoyance admittedly). So by the time of Mugen Train, Tanjiro is experienced in his fights against demons but still a far cry away from mastering his skills and proficiency. Alongside his friends Zenitsu, a cowardly fighter who is infatuated with Nezuko, and Inosuke, an orphan that was raised by Wild Boars and wears a boar-head mask , Tanjiro is tasked with travelling on a train to assist the Flame Hashira Kyōjurō Rengoku in investigating the increasing number of mysterious disappearances aboard the train.
