As the world is technologically advancing, many art forms from around the world are dying. One of my favourite art forms that has entertained me since I was a young girl is Puppetry. Puppetry is an art form found in various regions of India and it is addressed by different names. The ones I came across were specifically from Rajasthan and were called Kathaputli. Indian puppetry involves string, glove and string puppets and with the growing interest in television, this beautiful art form which is integral to the Indian culture is slowly dying out. Many forms of embroidery including Toda and Parsi embroidery have died out as well. Folk dances have decreased vastly in importance. Manjusha painting and Rogan painting have also been targeted by this swiftly moving importance towards technology culture. India is full of culture and in the growing importance of the west, the integrity is slowly decreasing.
